Snow + Wind = Localized Power Outages Possible

Met Ed has already put crews on standby in the area and is ready to respond as quickly as possible.

If the wind takes out power lines during this storm it will be very difficult for the crews to make repairs, simply because it will be hard to move in all the snow.

Plan accordingly, review our storm prep pro tips (link) and assume you might have no power for 24-48 hours starting some time tomorrow.

Stay away from all down power lines.  Assume they are live and dangerous even if they look “dead” – you can’t tell by looking if a power line is de-energized!

If you see a downed power line or another hazardous situation involving power lines, call 9-1-1 and then call First Energy 1-888-544-4877 immediately.
