Update on Power Outages and Roads

We are fortunate that power outages are limited in Bridgeton Township. There are some, but they seem to be limited to a few residences. Thus far, no major feeder lines have come down.

We just got this message from Met Ed:

As of noon today, 106,000 Met-Ed customers were affected by the storm.  21,000 have had their power restored. We continue to see new outages but in small numbers.  The weather forecast includes some wind this afternoon which may bring more ice-encrusted limbs or trees down on the electric infrastructure causing additional outages.

Customers in the following areas are experiencing power outages at this time:
Berks County, 4,055 customers
Bucks County, 131 customers
Chester County, 1280 customers
Montgomery County 89 customers

We are predicting that, for some customers, this will be a multi-day event.

Our repair crews in the field report that restoration efforts have been impeded by road conditions and downed trees blocking access to our equipment.  We will be working round-the-clock until all customers are restored.

Road conditions are and will remain  poor for many hours. There are many trees and  utility lines down and there are many road closures throughout the area.
