Good News: Power Restored on the 1700-1800 Block of Rt. 32 – Still some to go.

We are posting this from our daily meeting with the regional emergency management task force, which includes Met-Ed.

We have received word from folks along the 1700-1800 block of River Road that their power is back on. There are still individual  homes out, but there are now 500 workers in the area and Met Ed expects all but some individual homes to be back online by tomorrow night.

1734 is not on. 1742 has a line down in their yard, from the pole to their house. Since individual homes are the last to be done, is their downed line affecting our restoration?

It is possible that the downed line at 1742 is connected to the same transformer as your home, and if that were the case, they could not safely turn on the line until they fixed 1742’s issue. If you can safely approach the pole from which your home is serviced, you might see a red flag attached that says “Do Not Energize” somewhere on it. If that’s the case, your lines are deliberately isolated from the main feed until someone can make it safe. There are at least 500 line workers in our area starting in the morning – and we feel confident that we will see the vast majority of outages cleared tomorrow.
