Evening Report 29 August 2011

THE MILFORD UPPER BLACK EDDY BRIDGE IS OPEN AND WILL REMAIN OPEN.

NOW TESTING THE EXPERIMENTAL “BRIDGETON RIVER FLOOD HOTLINE” Call for recorded status reports  (484) 823-0199

River: Still flooded. The river is draining out very slowly. As of 8:32 PM the river level is 24.2′ and not really falling much at all.At this rate it will remain above flood stage into Tuesday and possibly beyond.

Roads:

River Road: Closed, Upper Black Eddy to Frenchtown and just at the intersection of Rt. 32 and Bridgeton Hill Road. You CAN get to the bridge, there’s a short detour past the firehouse. The slow drop of the river out means that River Road will definitely be closed all day tomorrow, Tuesday August 30th and into Wednesday. Realistically, we can’t expect the road to re-open until late Wednesday, if not Thursday. Lodi Hill is passable.  Jugtown Hill Road is closed.

Power:

Still out for many. No ETA for repairs.

In case you didn’t see it – here’s what happens when you drive around Road Closed signs. This car is still sitting in the water at Rt. 32 and Bridgeton Hill Road.
