Evening Report: August 28th 2011

Greetings. Here is the situation report for the end of the day.

River Flooding:
River will crest at or about 29′ tomorrow, August 29th, at or around 1PM.

Road Closures:
River Road (Rt. 32) Currently Closed from Upper Black Eddy Bridge to Frenchtown Bridge due to flooding at Berm Lane and at various other locations.

Lodi Hill Road is closed between River Road and Chestnut Ridge Road due to downed trees and/or wires.

Jugtown Hill Road s closed between River Road and Chestnut Ridge Road due to downed trees and/or wires.

Center Hill Road was closed near Ringing Rocks Road due to a tree in the road, but this may be cleared by the time you read this.

Power Outages:
There are many power outages in the area, they are spotty but progress is being made. That said, some locations may have a prolonged outage. As of this writing the Bridgeton Township building is without electricity.

Evacuations:
We have asked a very small number of people to evacuate in anticipation of the flood. The reason for this is anticipated road flooding which will prevent emergency services access to these particular locations.

Basement Pump-Outs:
The Upper Black Eddy Fire Company has been providing pump-out services, however they have extremely limited staffing and there may be a considerable delay on providing pump-out services.
