River Flood: Mid-Day Update – Crest About Midnight 25.1 Ft.

The flood warning for the Delaware River was issued by the National Weather Service. Here is some information. If you have questions, please enter a comment and it will be answered ASAP. If there is an immediate emergency situation, please call 9-1-1.

Current Situation (Noon, Friday 11 March 2011):

  • The crest forecast is for 25.1 feet at about Midnight. This is not a large flood event. Live data is below.
  • We closed River Road in the area of Berm Lane because the water is well into the road and not safe for driving.
  • To prevent a traffic mess, we implemented the road closure at Bridgeton Hill Road at Rt. 32. You can get to the post office via Singley Lane.
  • We expect River Road at Bridgeton Hill Road to be water covered some time this afternoon. That will make turning left at Bridgeton Hill Road to head northbound impossible
  • The Bridge Construction Crew is still working through this flood event, they will be moving heavy equipment in and out of the area, use caution.
  • We hope that people can send us pictures of the flood progress so for future incidents we have better information about when it is necessary and appropriate to close area roads.

Throughout this incident, we’ll keep the latest information we have here on the site.

Here’s the live data feed from the NOAA Advanced Hydrological Prediction Service:
